Swedish Lucia Celebrations (Online)

The annual candlelit Lucia procession on 13th December is perhaps one of the more exotic-looking Swedish customs, with girls and boys clad in white full-length gowns singing songs together. Did you know that this is the time when Swedes indulges into “Lussebullar”, kids line up for procession in preschools and that Saint Lucia is actually a Sicilian saint and not very Scandinavian?

We’ll dive deeper into this peculiar Swedish Christmas tradition and give you all the ins and outs. Unfortunately this year, we will have to try to recreate this atmospheric event online.
